The Dallas Cowboys began their 2025 season with a tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4, and CeeDee Lamb took the result particularly hard.
Lamb dropped multiple passes in the Cowboys' 24-20 road loss against the Eagles in Week 1. Two of the drops came in the fourth quarter, with one costing Dallas on what could have been a game-winning drive. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw a perfect strike to Lamb over the middle of the field that hit the Pro Bowl wideout right in the hands, but Lamb couldn't hold onto it.
On Friday, Lamb told reporters that he had trouble sleeping because of his performance against Philadelphia.
"I wouldn’t rather nobody else but myself be in those situations. I came up short once. We’ll see the rest. Trust me, I’ve thought about it, I’ve dwelled on it," Lamb said. "I’ve done everything that you could possibly imagine about this game. For all those that feel like they feel worse about that game than me, you’re absolutely wrong.”
Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb said he didn’t sleep much over the weekend. The drops against the Eagles bothered him. “I wouldn’t rather nobody else but myself be in those situations. I came up short once. We’ll see the rest.”

The 26-year-old was hard on himself immediately after the game, too, as he had a blunt assessment of his own play. He took responsibility for the loss and said he needs to play better going forward.
Lamb, who has struggled with drops throughout his career, finished the game with seven catches for 110 yards. He was targeted 13 times.
The Cowboys should have an easier time against the New York Giants at home on Sunday. Lamb will be determined to put the drops behind him in that contest.
