It has been a very long time since Tyreek Hill turned in one of his patented explosive plays, but the Miami Dolphins wide receiver does not want to be reminded of that.
There was once a time when Hill was a human highlight reel. It seemed like he had at least one reception for a massive gain every week, but the eight-time Pro Bowl wideout has not had a catch of longer than 30 yards since Week 1 of last season. On Friday, Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald pointed out to Hill that it has been more than 365 days since Hill gained more than 30 yards in a single play. Kelly asked Hill if there is a specific reason for that, which led to a tense exchange.
"You trying to p--- me off today with that one," Hill said after laughing for a few seconds.
Kelly then told Hill that it seems like the receiver still has his speed and asked if the issue is that the throws from Tua Tagovailoa have not been there. Hill laughed again.
"I don't know, bro. Like I said, I'm just grateful to be here, bro," Hill said. "I love my job, bro. It'll come. It's gonna come, man. I feel like this week we got a great opportunity to go out there and make some plays and move past last week. I don't know, man, it'll come sometime, I hope."
You can see the back-and-forth at around the 2:15 mark:
Unfortunately, we broke the news to #Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill that he hasn’t caught a pass for more than 30-yards in a full year.

Hill looked openly frustrated on the sideline during Miami's Week 1 blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts. That led to some speculation that the 31-year-old might seek a trade, and the Dolphins are said to have a clear stance on a trade.
Hill finished with just four catches for 40 yards against the Colts. He had just three games last season with more than 100 receiving yards. When Hill first joined the Dolphins in 2022, he consistently praised Tagovailoa for being one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Tagovailoa has since dealt with numerous injuries, and the two have not displayed the same type of chemistry as a few years back. Hill is hoping that will change at home against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
