One week removed from a miraculous fourth-quarter comeback against the Baltimore Ravens, the Buffalo Bills wasted no time getting started on Sunday vs. the New York Jets.
Running back James Cook was a huge part of their success, running 10 times for 83 yards and two TDs. He got the scoring started with a one-yard TD run midway through the opening quarter and followed that up with this juke on a 44-yard score with 8:50 left in the half to make it a 20-0 lead.

Buffalo had five drives in the first half, aside from its kneel going into the break, and scored a pair of TDs and field goals on four of those five possessions to take a 20-3 advantage into the half. On the flip side, the Jets punted four times and fumbled on five of their six drives, the complete opposite of their Week 1 performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers, when they put up 32 points in a loss.
Quarterback Josh Allen carried the Bills last week, going for over 400 total yards as the run game was relatively held in check to just 108 rush yards. In the first half alone on Sunday, Buffalo went for 146 yards on the ground while Allen only had 70 passing yards.
Allen temporarily exited the game in the first quarter after taking a blow to the face from Jets defensive tackle Michael Clemons. After plugging his nose with a tissue to keep the blood from gushing out, Allen returned and picked up as if nothing had happened.
It speaks to the balance on this Bills team. Although they struggled defensively in Week 1, a late fumble from Ravens RB Derrick Henry turned the game around and set the stage for their epic comeback. The run game, which was relatively nonexistent last week, looked unstoppable in the opening half against New York.
Cook posted a career-high 16 rushing TDs last season and topped 1,000 rush yards for the second consecutive campaign. If the Bills can get that kind of production from him to spare the huge workload from Allen, they are even more dangerous and a challenge to prepare for, as Sunday's first half showed.
