It feels like just yesterday that Carson Wentz was leading the NFL MVP race in just his second season in the league with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fast forward to Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season and Wentz is set to make an interesting kind of history when he takes the field on Sunday.
According to Ari Meirov, when he takes the field for the Minnesota Vikings, Wentz will become the first quarterback in NFL history to start at least one game for six different teams in six consecutive seasons. He will be filling in for the injured J.J. McCarthy.

Wentz started just one game for both the Kansas City Chiefs last season and Los Angeles Rams in 2023. He started seven games for the Washington Commanders in 2022, 17 games for the Indianapolis Colts in 2021 and 12 games for the Eagles in 2020.
Injuries derailed what looked like a promising career in Philadelphia for the former No. 2 overall pick. He is now a journeyman backup and will step in for Minnesota in hopes of playing solid football while McCarthy is out.
It would've been hard to imagine that this would be where Wentz's career path took him after such an excellent start to his NFL career.
