‘I’m hammered’ Kyle Schwarber made great admission during Phillies’ celebration

Kyle Schwarber made a great admission while celebrating his Philadelphia Phillies’ division title on Monday.

The Phillies beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5 in 10 innings to improve to 90-61. The victory increased the Phillies’ lead to 12.5 games in the NL East ahead of the second-place New York Mets, and allowed them to clinch the division.

The Phillies celebrated in the visitors’ locker room at Dodger Stadium with some booze. Schwarber was seen guzzling some beer out of a funnel while his teammates poured bottles of beer on him.

“I’m hammered,” Schwarber admitted after taking down the funnel.

Bryce Harper had no choice but to laugh afterward.

If the Phillies don’t come out looking so sharp on Tuesday, we might have an idea why.

Kyle Schwarber is a big part of the Phillies' resurgence

After their great stretch from 2007-2011 where the Phillies won the NL East each year, made two World Series and won one of them, the team went through a rough ride for a decade. They only had one winning season from 2012-2021, but they’ve since turned things around. This will be their fourth straight year with a postseason berth and second straight division title. They made the World Series as a wild-card team in 2022 and are hoping to win it all. Schwarber’s 53 home runs and 128 RBI are a huge reason why they ran away with the division this year.
