Corbin Carroll becomes first Diamondbacks player in MLB's elite club

Only four years into his career, Arizona Diamondbacks right fielder Corbin Carroll has made franchise history.

With a stolen base in Arizona's 9-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday, Carroll became the very first Diamondbacks player to ever achieve a 30-homer-30-stolen-base season.

Carroll's stolen base was his 30th of the season and came in a game he also hit his 31st home run as part of a four-RBI performance.

"Obviously, it was a goal of mine for the season to hit 30 homers and steal more than 30 bases," Carroll said to reporters after the game. "To accomplish some personal goals late in the year is great. There's been some really good players that have come before me [with the Diamondbacks], and so I think just to be the first to do it is great."

MLB has seen other players reach this mark in 2025

But while Carroll, 25, is the first to accomplish baseball's display of both power and speed for the Diamondbacks, he's actually the fourth player to reach the combined marks across MLB in 2025.

In addition to Carroll, Juan Soto of the Mets, the Yankees' Jazz Chisholm Jr. and the Guardians' Jose Ramirez joined the 30/30 club. There have been 76 such occurrences throughout the history of MLB.

Overall, Carroll finished the game going 2-for-5 and helped keep the Diamondbacks' playoff hopes alive. Arizona is now within one game of the New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds, who are tied for the final National League Wild Card spot.

A two-time All-Star and the 2023 National League Rookie of the Year, Carroll is also hitting .260 with 83 RBI and a 886 OPS.
