An Alabama football player was transported to a local hospital after he suffered an injury during practice on Tuesday, and the team has since provided an update on the situation.
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer revealed in a statement on Tuesday evening that outside linebacker Jah-Marien Latham was transported to UAB St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham after he suffered a neck injury in practice. DeBoer said Latham "has full feeling and motion" but was still undergoing tests.
"During today’s practice session, Jah-Marien Latham sustained a neck injury," DeBoer said. "He was transported to UAB St. Vincent’s Hospital for further evaluation and care.
"We are pleased to report that Jah has full feeling and motion, and he is currently undergoing a thorough medical assessment to determine the next steps in his recovery.
"Our top priority is Jah’s health and well-being. We are in close contact with his family and the medical team and will continue to support him in every way possible."
DeBoer said the team will provide further updates on Latham's condition when the time is appropriate.

Latham, a sixth-year senior, has not played in Alabama's last two games because of a lower-body injury. He had two tackles in the Crimson Tide's 31-17 season-opening loss to Florida State on Aug. 30. Latham played in 13 games for Alabama last season. He recorded 29 total tackles (three for a loss) and a sack.
Alabama is preparing to face No. 5 Georgia in Athens on Saturday night.
