The 'Season home-run-record by MLB team' quiz

Another season, another record for Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani.

Ohtani hit 55 home runs, setting a new Dodgers record by passing…Shohei Ohtani’s 54-home run mark from his Dodger-debut campaign in 2024. After hitting 54 home runs and stealing 59 bases in the regular season last year, he one-upped himself at the plate while returning to the pitcher’s mound with 62 strikeouts in 47 innings across his first 14 starts since 2023.

This postseason, Ohtani’s quest for title begins in the Wild Card round against the Cincinnati Reds, who used a series win over the Milwaukee Brewers and a Mets loss to the Marlins on the final day of the regular season to clinch the last National League playoff spot. While Ohtani’s bat will likely have something to say about this series going to a winner-take-all third game, if it does, he could make his playoff pitching debut by starting Game 3.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Ohtani now holds the first and second spot all-time on the Dodgers single-season home run leaders list. With that being said, how many of the players to hit the most home runs in one season for each MLB franchise can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
