Giants reportedly targeting big-name WRs to replace Malik Nabers

The New York Giants could soon give rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart a new toy.

After replacing benched Russell Wilson in Week 4, Dart is 2-1 through three starts, despite losing his No. 1 wide receiver. Second-year wideout Malik Nabers suffered a season-ending ACL tear in a Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. In four games, the LSU product had 18 receptions for 271 yards and two touchdown catches.

The Giants are reportedly planning to plug this hole before the Nov. 4 trade deadline at 4 p.m. ET.

Giants are reportedly targeting three WRs before trade deadline

In a story published Wednesday, Connor Hughes of SNY-TV in New York reported WRs Chris Olave (New Orleans Saints), Jakobi Meyers (Las Vegas Raiders) and Jaylen Waddle (Miami Dolphins) are the Giants' top targets.

Waddle — who has the 13th-most receiving yards in the NFL (390 in six games) — may be the best option of the three WRs. Olave has 39 receptions for 342 yards and one TD catch in six games, but has durability questions. Last season, the former Ohio State star missed nine games because of a concussion. He has had five documented concussions in four seasons.

Meyers, meanwhile, has 29 receptions for 329 yards, but the 28-year-old is in the last year of a three-year, $33M contract. Waddle is under contract through 2028.

Regardless of who the Giants would acquire, giving Dart, who has 508 yards passing and four TD passes in five games, another WR is wise. The team's receiving corps puts a ceiling on the passing attack.

WR Wan'Dale Robinson leads the Giants in receiving yards, with 351 in six games. Nabers still ranks second on the team in receiving yards.

Giving Dart another pass-catcher would let the rookie QB do more in the passing game, making the 2-4 Giants even more intriguing.
