A NASCAR Xfinity Series driver who was involved in a scary crash in Saturday's United Rentals 250 at Talladega Superspeedway was released from a local hospital early Sunday morning.
William Sawalich suffered a vicious accident during Saturday's Xfinity Series race at the 2.66-mile track and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation following the accident.
There were no updates provided on Sawalich for hours after the race.
At 2:31 a.m. CT on Sunday, Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass reported that Sawalich had been released from the hospital.

Later on Sunday morning, Sawalich posted on social media to confirm his condition.
"Appreciate all the messages and calls last night," Sawalich wrote. "Finally made it back home from Talladega — a little sore, but feeling better and thankful for all the support. Grateful for my team, the racing community, the NASCAR medical staff, nurses and doctors at UAB Hospital, friends and family."

Sawalich finished 30th in Saturday's race. Through 31 of 33 races in his rookie season of Xfinity Series competition, the 19-year-old from Eden Prairie, Minn., is 17th in the standings with three top-five finishes and nine top-10 results.
Austin Hill went on to win Saturday's United Rentals 250. There are two races remaining in the 2025 Xfinity Series season.
