Falcons' Bijan Robinson calls certain talk 'dead' after loss to 49ers

Throughout the 2025 season, Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris has declared on multiple occasions that he feels Atlanta running back Bijan Robinson is "the best player in football."

However, Morris offered those takes before Robinson was thoroughly outplayed by Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers in Atlanta's 20-10 loss that dropped the Falcons to 3-3 this past Sunday night.

Coming off that defeat, Robinson indicated he no longer wants to hear talk about where he is and/or isn't in overall player rankings.

Bijan Robinson says "best player in the NFL ... stuff is dead"

"All that best player in the NFL, that stuff is dead," Robinson said, as ESPN's Marc Raimondi shared on Tuesday.

Robinson had a relatively quiet outing as a ball-carrier against San Francisco, as he finished the game with just 40 rushing yards on 14 carries. While he also contributed six catches for 52 yards and a touchdown, McCaffrey went for 129 rushing yards, 72 receiving yards and two scores on the ground.

"I mean, for him, that's what he does," Robinson said about McCaffrey. "He's been doing it for a long time, and for me, I got a lot of work to do."

Bijan Robinson not focusing on personal stats amid Falcons' up-and-down season

The StatMuse website shows that Robinson ended Week 7 trailing only McCaffrey (981) with 914 total yards from scrimmage for the campaign. Atlanta has already had its bye, but San Francisco's break doesn't arrive until Week 14.

As of Tuesday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had Robinson fourth among the betting favorites at +950 odds to claim Offensive Player of the Year Award honors for this season. He wants no part of such chatter heading into the final weekend of October.

"I don't listen to stuff like that," Robinson added about his personal accomplishments. "I've got to be the best player for this team, and I've got to take it one day at a time and just trusting God and what he has for the guys and myself, and that's how we're going to be the best team that we can be."

Robinson should have an opportunity to produce a bounce-back performance when the Falcons host the lowly Miami Dolphins this coming Sunday. For what it's worth, 1-6 Miami surrendered 84 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries to Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins in this past Sunday's 31-6 loss.
