NFL Week 10 winners, losers: Another four-TD game for Matthew Stafford; running backs dominate

Now that most of the NFL's Week 10 schedule is in the books, it is time to take a look at some of the biggest winners and losers from around the league. Sunday was a huge day for running backs around the league, while another head coach could find himself on the hot seat.

NFL Week 10 winners

Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis ColtsWith quarterback Daniel Jones starting to show some cracks in his play, Taylor might have to be the workhorse for the Colts offense. He has been all season, and he was again on Sunday by rushing for 244 yards and three touchdowns against the Atlanta Falcons, including the game-winning overtime touchdown.

TreVeyon Henderson, RB, New England PatriotsQuarterback Drake Maye is not the only young star in New England's offensive backfield, and Henderson showed that on Sunday by rushing for 147 yards on 14 carries with two touchdowns in a breakout performance for the rookie.

New York Jets special teams: How do you win a football game where your quarterback completes 6-of-11 passes for only 54 yards? You score two special teams touchdowns, including a 99-yard kickoff return by Kene Nwangwu and a 74-yard punt return by Isaiah Williams.

De'Von Achane, RB, Miami DolphinsThe Dolphins might not be going anywhere this season, but credit to them for not rolling over and absolutely crushing one of the AFC's best teams in the Buffalo Bills. Achane was the big star of the game with 174 yards and two touchdowns rushing, while also adding 51 yards receiving.

Detroit Lions offense: Speculation mounted on Sunday that head coach Dan Campbell had taken over the team's play-calling on offense. Whether he did or not, the Lions offense scored on all eight of their possessions, excluding the end-of-game kneel down in a 44-22 win over the Washington Commanders

DeMarcus Lawrence, DL, Seattle Seahawks: Lawrence was everywhere for the Seahawks defense, recording four tackles, half a sack, a tackle for loss, three quarterback hits, two passes defended and two fumble return touchdowns. That is a winner. That is also defensive player of the week.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles Rams: Another week, another four-touchdown game for Stafford. He is now up to 25 touchdowns and only two interceptions for the season, and his fourth touchdown effort on Sunday was his third consecutive game with at least four touchdown passes.

NFL Week 10 losers

Brian Daboll, HC, New York Giants: If Daboll's seat was not already hot, it has to be absolutely scorching after his team blew a double-digit second half lead to fall to 2-8 in a 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears. Even with a good young quarterback, there remains no progress here.

Minnesota Vikings mistakes: The Vikings were a mess on Sunday, committing 13 penalties, including an almost incomprehensible eight false starts, while turning the football over three times. That sort of effort is not going to beat any team on any week.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Just the whole operation goes in the losers column here. The Jaguars had a divisional opponent down for the count and a chance to put some serious distance between them in the AFC South (and wild-card) standings. And then they allowed the Houston Texans, with a backup quarterback, to outscore them 26-0 in the fourth quarter. That turned a 29-10 Jaguars lead into a 36-29 defeat. Cannot happen.

Roughing the passer penalties: There were multiple roughing the passer penalties on Sunday on plays where defenders simply sacked the quarterback and did not land properly. These were not late hits, or hits to the head, or anything else egregious. They were sacks. Tackles in a tackle football game. Michael Strahan had seen enough and reminded everybody quarterbacks are football players as well.

Carolina Panthers playoff chances: Just when you may have starting to convince yourself that the Panthers might be able to play their way back into the NFC playoff picture, they laid an egg against a previously one-win New Orleans Saints team to drop to 5-5 on the season. Definitely an improved team, but obviously still a long way to go for the Panthers.
