Mario Cristobal, Miami flip three-star DL from ACC rival

The Miami Hurricanes just stole a recruit straight out from under the nose of the Pitt Panthers.

Logan Nagle is a three-star defensive line recruit from Wayne, New Jersey. He had been committed to Pitt since June, but an offer from Miami in late August threw his recruitment for a loop.

Nagle, who checks in at nearly 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds, took an official visit to Coral Gables this weekend to see what Miami head coach Mario Cristobal is building. He took in Miami's 38-10 win over Syracuse.

A few days later, it has been announced that he's flipping his commitment from Pitt to the Hurricanes.

The official allowed Nagle to get to see Miami's defense in person. He also got to get to know defensive line coach Jason Taylor, defensive tackles coach Damione Lewis and, of course, see Cristobal's vision in action.

“Miami is one of the best programs in the nation, playing some of the best defense,” Nagle told Steve Wiltfong of Rivals. “I feel the scheme fits me perfectly. And I think I can really develop in that scheme and with the coaching from coach Taylor and coach Lewis. And I fully believe in coach Cristobal and what they’re doing down there.”

Cristobal has Miami ranked No. 15 in the country. They're in contention to be a College Football Playoff team, but the head coach is also building for the future. Nagle is Miami's 29th 2026 commitment in a class that's ranked in the top 10 nationally.

247Sports ranks Nagle as the No. 55 defensive lineman in the 2026 class. He's looking forward to the chance to get better now that he's a part of the program.

“I really love the scheme here and development,” Nagle said.
