Sunday's 24-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles was by far the biggest moment of the Dallas Cowboys' 2025 season thus far.
Not only was it a must-win NFC East matchup against their bitter rivals, but the Cowboys (5-5-1) came back from a 21-0 second-quarter deficit to stun the defending Super Bowl champions at AT&T Stadium.
Quarterback Dak Prescott led the way with his arm and his legs when needed, dicing up the vaunted Eagles defense for 354 passing yards and two passing touchdowns, along with nine rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.
The dynamic duo of George Pickens (146 yards, 1 TD) and CeeDee Lamb (75 yards) were on the receiving end of a lot of Prescott’s work, though a good day could have been even better for the latter had it not been for three drops, including the potential go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
Lamb was visibly upset after that drop, lashing out on the sidelines, which altogether resulted in some backlash from NFL fans. Despite the drops and frustration, the superstar wide receiver still has the belief of his coach and team, which Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed postgame.
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer on CeeDee Lamb's drops against the Eagles: "CeeDee's an incredible player. He's not a good player. He's an incredible player. I think the biggest thing for CeeDee is to know we love him, we trust him. The ball is going to keep coming his way.…

The 26-year-old is now up to 44 receptions for 632 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in eight games on the season, even while having dealt with some struggles and an ankle injury that kept him out of action for three weeks.
His 79 receiving yards per game rank seventh in the league, and with plenty of motivation following an up-and-down showing in Week 12, it’s fair to expect a massive bounce-back performance against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving in Week 13.
For those who are concerned about Lamb’s drops and his frustrations boiling over on the sidelines, don’t be, because everything is going to be just fine.
Those aforementioned 79 receiving yards per game are almost the exact same clip he produced in two of the last three years, with 79.6 in 2024 and 79.9 in 2022, so any claims of his demise are blown way out of proportion.
Expectations for a consensus top-five wide receiver in football are sky high, but let’s remember he’s still getting back up to speed after the ankle injury, and his numbers remain very strong in the process.
Lamb doesn't have a notable history of drops in his NFL career, and a player of his talent in his prime will find a way to get out of this funk, where he's still one of the most productive players in football.
The Cowboys haven’t had to overuse Lamb thanks to the success of his partner on the other side of the field in Pickens, and that should be seen as a positive, as they have multiple legitimate threats on the offensive side of the ball.
Once the four-time 1,000-yard wideout reaches that next gear we all know he’s capable of, this Dallas offense will become virtually unstoppable, and with their most important games of the season only ahead of them in a push for the playoffs, there’s no need for negativity around a core piece of the puzzle in Lamb.
