Nick Folk insists Jets are changing for the better under Aaron Glenn

Veteran kicker Nick Folk booted a 56-yard field goal as time expired to help the New York Jets earn a 27-24 win over the Atlanta Falcons that improved the Jets to 3-9 under first-year head coach Aaron Glenn on Sunday.

Following that victory, Folk suggested during a chat with Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated that the Jets are improving with Glenn leading the charge despite the fact that the club will endure a 10th straight losing season.

Aaron Glenn has won over Jets locker room

"The biggest thing is his belief, number one," Folk said about Glenn's impact on the Jets. "And number two, he’s very truthful with you. And he’s not going to blow smoke or anything like that. He’s very truthful about everything that’s going on around the building. He’s truthful to every player, whether you play good, bad [or] indifferently. And I think guys respect that."

Glenn may spend a portion of the holiday season wondering what could have been for the 2025 Jets had he allowed veteran Tyrod Taylor to compete with Justin Fields for the starting quarterback job back in the summer. In Week 1, Chris Boswell of the Pittsburgh Steelers kicked a 60-yard field goal late in regulation of Pittsburgh's 34-32 win at the Jets. In Week 3, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers needed a walk-off field goal to beat the Jets.

In Week 6, the Jets suffered a 13-11 loss to the Denver Broncos at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The following Sunday, the Carolina Panthers earned a 13-6 win over the Jets that dropped Gang Green to 0-7.

Since that time, however, the Jets have picked up victories over the Falcons (4-8), the Cincinnati Bengals (4-8) and the Cleveland Browns (3-9). Taylor served as New York's first-choice QB1 over the past two games and is expected to remain atop the depth chart for the rest of the season.

Jets' future under Aaron Glenn seems brighter than it looked at the end of October

"I mean, there’s a really resilient group of guys in this locker room who come to work every day, work their tail off, try to get better," Folk added. "And I think you’re seeing that from everyone. We’re playing better football. It’s not obviously the best football, not where we want it, but it’s getting better. And A.G. is doing a great job of keeping us getting better, keeping us headed in the right direction. And I just think there’s a lot of promise for the future of this organization."

As SNY's Connor Hughes pointed out, Glenn and first-year general manager Darren Mougey want to establish a winning culture within the Jets through Week 18. The Jets will next have an opportunity to strengthen that culture when they host the 5-7 Miami Dolphins on Dec. 7. On Monday, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Jets as 2.5-point underdogs for that game.
