The Golden State Warriors (11-10) are, once again, staring down a .500 record, and are set to face the 20-1 Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night. Worst of all, they'll be without franchise icon Stephen Curry, who suffered a quad contusion in a collision with Houston Rockets guard Amen Thompson on Nov. 26. Curry has been out since.
The 11-time All-Star has had to do most of the heavy lifting for the aging, undersized Warriors, but to no avail. When asked about Curry's availability, head coach Steve Kerr did little to ease fans' concerns.
While Kerr doesn't think the injury is too severe, he doesn't want to make any promises about a potential return timeline.
"He's not on the court yet," Kerr said on 95.7 The Game. "We'll have an update on Thursday, so he won't play tomorrow, obviously. And we'll just take it day by day. I don't think any of us are too concerned that this is a long-term thing, but we also don't have clarity on exactly when he's going to play."

Kerr also acknowledged that Curry's presence on the upcoming road trip is to be determined, as he might benefit more from staying home to access the gym and the team's facilities.
At 37, Curry is clearly still capable of putting up big numbers, but he's putting his body on the line to carry a team that doesn't have as much talent as it did in the past.
According to Basketball Reference, he's averaging 27.9 points per game on 47.1% from the floor and 39.1% from beyond the arc. While the team needs him out there, rushing Curry back might not be worth it for a team that looks less like a contender with each game.
