The Dallas Cowboys' playoff hopes took a major hit on Thursday night.
Their loss to the Detroit Lions was the first in the Quinnen Williams era, and it dropped them to 6-6-1 after three consecutive wins. However, with the Philadelphia Eagles trending in the wrong direction and losing three in a row, there's still hope for Jerry Jones' team.
As pointed out by Cowboys insider R.J. Ochoa, they have a clear path to the playoffs.
"The Dallas Cowboys win the NFC East if they win out and the Philadelphia Eagles lose two more games," Ochoa explained.
The Cowboys still have to face the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Chargers at home, and they'll visit the Washington Commanders and New York Giants.
The Eagles, on the other hand, will host the Las Vegas Raiders, and they'll meet with the Commanders and Buffalo Bills on the road.
It won't be easy, and the Cowboys' defense will have to get back on track after a tough outing on Thursday night. However, the offense is still firing on all cylinders, averaging 29.2 points per game, the third-highest mark in the league.
It's hard to believe the Eagles will close out the season with at least five losses in six games.
Then again, they have failed to score at least 22 points in five consecutive games, and with Nick Sirianni doubling down on his commitment to offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, the Cowboys still have some hope.
