The New York Giants' head-coaching position is expected to be one of the most coveted in the NFL.
They will potentially have the No. 1 pick and several young pieces to build around in Jaxson Dart, Malik Nabers, Abdul Carter and Cam Skattebo. There should be no shortage of suitors for this job, and it looks like people in Las Vegas know something most mortals don't. Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman has emerged as the overwhelming favorite to get the job, and this isn't the first time that he's been tied to the organization.
According to The Athletic's Dan Duggan, the Giants are keeping tabs on the 39-year-old Freeman.
"I absolutely think he’s someone the Giants will have interest in. I don’t know if there would be mutual interest," he wrote on X.
Freeman has a 78.2 percent winning percentage in four full seasons with the Fighting Irish, compiling a 43-12 record. He also led the team to the national championship game in 2024. He's one of the most prominent up-and-coming coaches in football, and with the NFL transitioning toward younger coaches, he'd be an intriguing choice.
The Giants have struggled to close out games this season, but they seem to have the right foundation to build for years to come. And while other names like Klint Kubiak and Steve Spagnuolo will reportedly be in the mix to take the reins of the team, Freeman has also shown more than enough to prove that he deserves a shot in the pros.
