Everything that could've gone wrong for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday went wrong.
The Philadelphia Eagles ended their three-game skid with a much-needed 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Then, Jerry Jones' team lost at home to the Minnesota Vikings.
The Cowboys have fallen below .500 with their second consecutive loss, and their chances of making the playoffs are pretty slim. Nevertheless, there's still a way they can sneak into the postseason, although it will take some help from their most hated rival.
As pointed out by ESPN on X, the Cowboys have a 1 percent chance of making the playoffs after the loss. For that to happen, the Eagles would need to lose their final three games, and the Cowboys would need to win their final three games.
The Cowboys will close out the season with a home game vs. the Los Angeles Chargers before back-to-back road divisional matchups with the Washington Commanders and New York Giants. The Chargers are a tough, bruising team fresh off a huge win, and they're the best opponent the Cowboys will face for the remainder of the season.
The Eagles, on the other hand, will face the Washington Commanders and Buffalo Bills on the road before closing out the season with a rematch against the Commanders. It's hard to envision the Eagles losing all three games and the Cowboys winning out, but we've seen wilder things happen in this sport, maybe even this very same season.
