Lions' Aidan Hutchinson would 'love' if he got this Christmas gift from Steelers' Aaron Rodgers

In November 2022, Detroit Lions pass-rusher Aidan Hutchinson was in the middle of his rookie season when he intercepted a pass thrown by then-Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers now features for an 8-6 Pittsburgh Steelers side that will play at the 8-6 Lions on Dec. 21 in a game that will be massive for both clubs. On Wednesday, Hutchinson addressed going up against the future Hall of Famer once again.

Aidan Hutchinson wants to catch another Aaron Rodgers pass

"I'd love if he threw me another one," Hutchinson said about Rodgers, per Matthew Marczi of Steelers Depot. "That'd be great."

Thus far, Rodgers has tossed just seven picks with the Steelers this season. Meanwhile, Hutchinson tallied one interception over his first 14 games.

The Steelers hold a lead over the 7-7 Baltimore Ravens in the battle for first place in the AFC North standings. Pittsburgh would claim the division title by beating Baltimore in Week 18 regardless of what happens before that matchup.

As for the Lions, they trail the 9-4-1 Packers and the 10-4 Chicago Bears in the NFC North standings. The Packers will head into the weekend holding the NFC's final wild-card playoff berth.

Aidan Hutchinson, Aaron Rodgers have respect for each other

"He's a competitor, and he's been doing it at a high level for a long time, so we all have a ton of respect for him," Hutchinson added.

The feeling is mutual.

"He's a game-wrecker," Rodgers said about Hutchinson, per John Maakaron of Sports Illustrated. "He's a fantastic player. He's making his way down the path of being a generational-type player. You know, he's had a great career. Obviously, he had a tough injury. ...But he's battled back, and he's anything but a one-trick pony, and he's got all the moves, pass-rush, great spin-move, cobra-strike, speed to power. He's a talented guy."

As of Thursday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Lions as seven-point favorites over the Steelers. If Hutchinson can get to Rodgers early, the 42-year-old could be in for a rough afternoon at Detroit's Ford Field.
