The Los Angeles Clippers' decision to move on from Chris Paul has drawn considerable criticism.
Current and former players have taken Paul's side, and the reports about what happened behind closed doors have only raised more scrutiny. However, LeBron James, one of Paul's closest friends in the NBA, has taken a different stance on the matter. When asked about Paul's abrupt exit and how the Clippers treated him, James was completely indifferent.
"No, I didn't talk to him," James said, per ESPN's Dave McMenamin. "It’s not for me to comment on, to be honest. It’s none of my business."
Of course, that's probably the most honest way any NBA player should refer to this particular issue. Then again, coming from one of his main allies, not to mention someone who has knowingly made the most of his position in the league to address countless issues — both his problem and not — that's a bit of an odd position to take.
There were some rumors about the Los Angeles Lakers being a potential trade destination for Paul once he became eligible to be traded after Dec. 15, given his relationship with James and their need for an upgrade at the backup point guard spot.
That's still clearly a possibility, and it'll be quite interesting to see if James suddenly decides to take a different tone about how the Clippers treated the future first-ballot Hall of Famer.
