Indiana scores special teams TD vs. Miami in CFP title game

The Indiana Hoosiers needed a response.

They shut out the Miami Hurricanes in the first half of the College Football Playoff national championship game, but Miami responded in a big way coming out of the locker room.

On their first offensive drive of the first half, running back Mark Fletcher Jr. galloped 57 yards for a massive touchdown run.

That run gave the Cane’s life and brought them to within three points.

Miami's defense then held Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza and the Indiana offense to a "four-and-out" and a classic three-and-out on the Hoosiers' next two offensive possessions.

The Hurricanes were playing like they were poised to flip the game, and the onus was once again on Indiana's defense to make a play

The Hoosier defense did a great job of forcing a three-and-out from Miami (just nine yards on three plays), and on fourth down, Indiana's special teams came up huge.

Senior defensive lineman Mikail Kamara blocked the Miami punt, and linebacker Isaiah Jones scooped it up in the endzone for a massive Indiana special teams touchdown.

It looked like this:

The beautiful thing about this block for Indiana is that Kamara, the lineman who blocked the punt, followed head coach Curt Cignetti to Bloomington from James Madison.

He's been a part of this turnaround from the very beginning, and he made arguably the play of the game in the biggest moment for Indiana.
