Greg Biffle to be honored by two NASCAR teams at Daytona 500

Former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle will be honored by a pair of NASCAR Cup Series teams during the 68th running of the Daytona 500 on Feb. 15.

Biffle, who passed away at age 55 in a plane crash in Statesville, N.C., on Dec. 18, won 19 Cup Series races in a Cup Series career that spanned 14 seasons (2003-16).

The Vancouver, Wash., native spent his entire full-time Cup Series career with RFK Racing (formerly Roush Racing). RFK will honor Biffle during the Daytona 500 by having all four of its cars in the event adorn the number font that Biffle made famous during his Cup Series tenure.

Drivers Brad Keselowski, Chris Buescher, Ryan Preece and Corey LaJoie will be the ones to carry the special font.

Kaulig Racing driver AJ Allmendinger, who now drives the No. 16 in the Cup Series, will also sport the Biffle-esque 16 on his Chevrolet during the Daytona 500 race weekend.

Greg Biffle at Daytona

Biffle never won the Daytona 500, but Daytona International Speedway was still a special place for him.

In 2003, Biffle earned his first career Cup Series win at Daytona in the Pepsi 400 on July 5, 2003.

A Daytona 500 win would be incredibly special for any of the five drivers carrying a Biffle tribute at Daytona anyway, but it would mean even more this year as NASCAR honors one of their late stars.
