Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the coaching search for the Las Vegas Raiders will be led by minority owner Tom Brady and general manager John Spytek.
With Brady having the more important title than Spytek, the former NFL quarterback should have more sway in the final decision. However, some teams want to have input from players. The Baltimore Ravens are listening to the desires of quarterback Lamar Jackson, though owner Steve Bisciotti made it clear he will make the final decision for Baltimore.
Star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby recently revealed how much impact he's had on the Raiders' head-coaching search this offseason. Per Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Crosby said he hasn't remained in contact with the Raiders during the coaching search.
"I haven’t talked to them, not in the last couple weeks," Crosby said. "I’ve just been focused on my family, my girls and getting healthy. But, yeah, I haven’t talked to them in a while."
Crosby was upset when the Raiders put him on season-ending injured reserve before Week 17. He underwent surgery on his knee earlier in January.
Crosby has been listed as a possible trade candidate this offseason, especially after his frustrations with how the organization treated him at the end of the regular season. Given how interested he is in helping the Raiders find their fourth head coach since 2022, Crosby might welcome a trade from Las Vegas once the regime is in.
Crosby told Hill he's happy with how his rehab is going this offseason. He recorded 10 sacks in 2025. He should fetch a quality haul for a contender this offseason.
The Raiders need to build around a new head coach and likely rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza for next season. If the best case is to part ways with Crosby, he does not need to concern himself with the search in January. After all, the recent hires have been busts.
