Giannis Antetokounmpo's situation with the Milwaukee Bucks has the NBA on edge.
The Greek superstar has been vocal about his frustration with the team, even calling out his teammates.
Now, with him being out with injury potentially through the Feb. 5 trade deadline, he may have played his last game with the organization.
Multiple teams are keeping tabs on Giannis' situation. And, according to NBA insider Henry Abbott of True Hoops, super agent Rich Paul is trying to add him to his portfolio of superstars.
"Rich Paul of Klutch Sports not only has a tendency to talk about Giannis, but also – multiple sources agree – has been talking to Giannis’s brother Thanasis as of late," Abbott wrote. "Rich, it seems clear, would like to represent Giannis, and (despite what’s happening with Anthony Davis in Dallas) is said to have been making the case that he’s the guy who can get a star player where he wants to go."
Paul might not be the most beloved figure by NBA front offices, but he's known for getting his players traded when they want to be traded. More importantly, he even usually finds a way to get them to their preferred destination.
Giannis would reportedly like to play for the New York Knicks. There's a framework for a potential deal, or they might even turn to a third team to make things easier.
Whatever the case, Giannis could be on the move even if he doesn't join Rich Paul's empire. But if he does, he might be telling his hand about his true feelings about staying in Milwaukee.
