Fox's Jay Glazer said on Wednesday that he believes the Raiders' five-time Pro Bowl edge-rusher, Maxx Crosby, has reached the end of his time in Las Vegas. He also mentioned in the Yahoo Sports Daily interview that it's "Maxx's decision."
The topic of the Raiders' elite pass-rusher has been a recurring discussion every offseason. In October 2024, Raiders owner Mark Davis said that the team would not trade Crosby, neither before nor after the trade deadline. This same sentiment was expressed again in 2025.
With a new head coach and coordinators coming in, if Crosby isn't truly happy with the franchise, could this signal the end of his time in Vegas?
Here are five ideal and potential landing spots for Crosby:
Crosby has mentioned that he grew up a Lions fan, and with head coach Dan Campbell's culture, he would be an ideal fit. The Super Bowl-contending team needs another premier pass-rusher alongside Aidan Hutchinson.
With Hutchinson likely untouchable in any trade offer, a package that includes their 2026 and 2027 first-round picks, along with one of their 2026 third-round picks, would work.
According to NFL insider Dianna Russini on "Zolak & Bertrand," Crosby expressed a desire to play for Mike Vrabel. If the Patriots were to trade for Crosby, it would be costly.
A bidding war is likely for Crosby, and for the Raiders to trade within the AFC, the Patriots would likely have to overpay. This would include multiple first-round picks (2026 and 2027), an early-day two pick and a developmental prospect like edge-rusher Bradyn Swinson.
Crosby was frequently linked to the Cowboys, including before the 2025 trade deadline. Dallas has struggled with pass-rush consistency and has extra draft capital to spend on a high-motor defender.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones isn't afraid to trade, and with Crosby's injury history, they could sweeten the deal by taking on a load of Crosby's contract.
Crosby has been mentioned as a fit to boost the Bears' young, ascending roster. Chicago has been aggressive in building, and Crosby would add instant experience.
With similar trade packages that other teams can offer, they would also have to restructure some contracts to afford Crosby.
This team is a Super Bowl contender under second-year head coach Mike Macdonald. Crosby would pair well with Macdonald's aggressive 3-4 system, which can be versatile across multiple fronts.
The Seahawks will have plenty of room to work with this offseason due to their extensive salary cap room, which stands at $73.2 million, according to Over the Cap. With that alone, they may have the advantage.
Whether he stays with the Raiders or goes to another team, Crosby can fit in both 3-4 and 4-3 systems, adding aggressiveness and pursuing ability against the run. He takes the pressure off other defenders and can exploit gaps and weaknesses off the edge.
Look for a Super Bowl and consistent playoff contender to be in the market for Crosby. He is only interested in winning organizations at this stage of his career.
