Josh Allen shares classy message for Stefon Diggs, Mack Hollins ahead of Super Bowl

Long before New England Patriots wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins began preparing for their club's Super Bowl LX matchup versus the Seattle Seahawks, they spent time sharing an offense with current Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

While Allen earned MVP honors for the 2024 season, the 2018 first-round draft pick has yet to play in a Super Bowl. During a recent chat with Madison Williams of Sports Illustrated, Allen addressed some of his former teammates being four quarters away from getting their hands on the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

What "sucks" for Josh Allen about Stefon Diggs, Mack Hollins playing in Super Bowl

"Very happy for [Diggs]," Allen said. "I got nothing but love and respect for Stef, and honestly we got another receiver there in Mack Hollins, too. Those are guys that play football the right way. They work extremely hard, they practice even harder. Very, very happy for both of those guys. ...It sucks to see an AFC East division rival get in over you, but they obviously deserve to be there."

The working relationship between Allen and Diggs seemingly experienced noticeable ups and downs from 2020 up until Buffalo traded the receiver to the Houston Texans in the spring of 2024. That said, Diggs generated headlines when he voiced his love for Bills fans and insisted that Buffalo has "a Hall of Fame quarterback" in Allen.

Could Josh Allen possibly root for Patriots to win the Super Bowl?

Per Lauren Campbell of MassLive, Allen shared during an appearance on CBS Sports HQ that he is close friends with Seattle starting signal-caller Sam Darnold. That isn't the only reason Allen will be pulling for Darnold's Seahawks to win this coming Sunday.

"As a Bill and a Bills fan, I don’t know if anyone is going to be rooting for the Pats," Allen explained. "With that being said, I’ve got so much love and respect for a lot of guys on that team, [head coach Mike Vrabel] included. He’s a fantastic coach. He’s a fantastic person."

While things often change quickly in the NFL, it seems as if Allen will be going up against New England teams coached by Vrabel for years to come.
