The Las Vegas Raiders have a new head coach in Klint Kubiak, but he may not have their best player.
Maxx Crosby's name has been tangled up in trade rumors since the end of the regular season. The star pass-rusher refuses to engage in that conversation, but sometimes, silence speaks volumes.
Then again, it's not like the Raiders are obligated to move him, even if he wants to find a new team. That's why NFL insider Jordan Schultz believes it would take a huge haul for the Raiders to even consider making such a move.
"The question now is, 'How much wiggle room does Crosby actually have?' And so far, it's not like he's requested a trade," Schultz said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "...The only way the Raiders move Crosby is if they command somewhere along the lines of a Micah Parsons package."
The Packers gave up two first-round picks (one in 2026 and one in 2027) and Kenny Clark to get Parsons before giving him a four-year, $188M contract extension.
Crosby is two years older than Parsons, but he's also a bona fide EDGE rusher and one of the prime headhunters in the game.
He's signed through the 2029 season, and whoever trades for him would absorb his three-year, $106.5M extension ($91.5M guaranteed).
Even so, contending teams usually figure out a way to get around the salary cap, and even if this is a steep price to pay, he's the type of game-wrecking defensive piece who could help a team go from pretender to contender.
