Jaylen Waddle addresses claim that he wants Dolphins to trade him

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has addressed claims that he asked the team to move him following the release of Tyreek Hill.

A parody X account spreading false NFL rumors claimed that Waddle told the Dolphins “me next” after the team released Hill and edge rusher Bradley Chubb on Monday. In spite of the parody branding, the post tallied over 1,500 reposts and 19,000 likes.

The claim spread enough that Waddle posted a reply on X Tuesday. He simply posted a “cap” emoji to signify that the claim was a lie.

The Dolphins presumably would have ignored Waddle’s request even if it had been delivered. He signed a contract extension in 2024 that keeps him tied to the team through 2028. He should also have a central role in the offense going forward after Hill’s release, making it even less likely that Miami would even consider moving on from him.

Waddle’s numbers took a hit in 2025 due to the team’s inconsistent passing game. Despite that, he still caught 64 passes for 910 yards with six touchdowns.
