The Florida Gators are peaking at the right time.
On Saturday, the defending national champions cruised to a 94-75 road win at the Ole Miss Rebels (11-16, 3-11 in SEC), Florida's seventh straight and 12th in its last 13 games.
Junior forward Alex Condon led the team with 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting, while senior guard Xaivian Lee posted his first double-double of the season, finishing with 11 points and 10 assists.
While blowing out Ole Miss isn't a statement by itself, taken within the context of the Gators' recent climb, it means something more. Florida has been blowing out opponents, averaging 89.9 points and winning by 21.6 points per game during its seven-game win streak.
It's also found a semblance of a three-point shot. Entering Saturday, Florida (21-6, 12-2 in SEC) ranked No. 355 (out of 365 Division I programs) in three-point field goal percentage (29.4 percent). The Gators made 50 percent of their threes (11-of-22) against the Rebels and have drained at least 10 in three of their last four games.
According to KenPom, Florida is one of the top defensive teams in the country, ranking fourth in adjusted defensive efficiency. It has outstanding length, with three of its top players measuring 6-foot-9 or taller, allowing the team to chase opponents off the three-point line and prevent easy looks from inside the arc.
If the Gators can consistently generate offense from the perimeter, they'll be hard to beat in March and early April, giving them an excellent chance of repeating as national champions, even in potentially the toughest side of the bracket.
The selection committee revealed its current top 16 overall teams in the field on Saturday, and Florida ranked ninth as a 3-seed and was placed in the Midwest alongside last year's national runner-up, the Houston Cougars (23-3, 11-2 in Big 12) and the projected No. 1 overall seed Michigan Wolverines (25-1, 15-1 in Big Ten).

That's a daunting path for anyone to go through, although after Saturday, Florida might be worth fearing most.
