The Seattle Kraken have acquired forward Bobby McMann from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a second-round pick in 2027 and a fourth-round pick in 2026.

Hockey insider Frank Seravalli was the first to report the return.

McMann was heavily listed in trade rumors after the Olympic break, with multiple teams reportedly circling in on the pending unrestricted free agent. An undrafted free agent signing out of Colgate University in 2020, McMann started his pro career with the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder before earning time in a bottom-line role with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies. He’d go on to force his way up Toronto’s depth chart before eventually making his NHL debut during the 2022-23 season.

McMann would spend part of the 2023-24 season with the Marlies, but would primarily establish himself as a useful middle-six scorer with the big club. He spent his first full season with the club in 2024-25, scoring 20 goals and 34 points in 74 games. McMann has played more prominently in the top six this season, scoring 19 goals and 32 points through 60 games.

The 29-year-old is on a bit of a cold streak, having not scored since Toronto’s final game prior to the Olympic break on Feb. 3.

Toronto now has two second-round picks in 2027, but still doesn’t have a pick until the third round in 2026. Toronto has Colorado’s first-round in 2027 and could get their own back in 2026 if the Leafs finish in the bottom-five of the NHL standings this year.
