Ravens already have a replacement in mind for Maxx Crosby

The Baltimore Ravens made the biggest splash of the offseason, or so they thought.

Their blockbuster trade for Maxx Crosby, the first time they traded a first-round pick for a player, fell through due to a failed physical.

Now, general manager Eric DeCosta will have to scramble to find a pass-rushing reinforcement for new head coach Jesse Minter's defense.

However, it seems that they've already found a plan B. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, they will immediately pivot to Trey Hendrickson.

"Text from a GM: 'Baltimore is gonna sign Trey Hendrickson. Watch,'” Schultz shared on his X account. 

The former Cincinnati Bengals star is now the most prominent pass-rusher available in free agency. He was reportedly having a tough time finding someone willing to meet his financial demands, but he now has all the leverage in talks with the Ravens.

Hendrickson had just 4.0 sacks on seven appearances last season after combining for 35.0 sacks in the previous two campaigns, and he's a little older at 31, so signing him obviously comes with plenty of risk.

That said, the Ravens clearly want to give Minter the weapons he needs to rebuild a defense that left plenty to be desired last season.

Crosby could still be on the move, but it's hard to believe any team will be willing to give up two first-round picks after the failed physical.

As for Hendrickson, he might be the biggest winner of this huge mess-up.
