Shai Gilgeous-Alexander joins LeBron James in rare NBA stat line

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a historic night on Monday while leading the Oklahoma City Thunder past the Denver Nuggets, 129-126.

The reigning MVP hit 126 straight games with at least 20 points, tying the record Wilt Chamberlain set between 1961 and 1963.

Gilgeous-Alexander sealed it with a stepback three with 3.3 seconds left. He finished with 35 points and a career-high 15 assists without turning it over once.

According to ESPN Insights, LeBron James is the only other player to post at least 35 points and 15 assists without a turnover since turnovers became an official stat in the 1977-78 season. James did it while leading the Cleveland Cavaliers past the Toronto Raptors on March 21, 2018.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander steals spotlight from Nikola Jokic

Ten nights after a tense overtime battle, Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic went at it again. This time, the Thunder guard took over when it mattered. Jokic still stuffed the stat sheet with 32 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists, but Gilgeous-Alexander owned the clutch moments.

He buried a deep stepback three from the top of the arc with 13.9 seconds left, looking like he had just put the Thunder up four for good. Denver came right back, though.

Jokic drilled a three after Jaylin Williams got called for fouling Jamal Murray on a screen. Officials reviewed it and ruled Jokic was already in his shooting motion, so Murray got a free throw to tie it up. That sequence flipped everything and set up one of the wildest late-game moments of Gilgeous-Alexander's career.
