The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly playing hardball with A.J. Brown.
The New England Patriots have been trying to acquire the former Tennessee Titans star for a while now, and not even signing Romeo Doubs has mitigated their interest in his services.
Eagles GM Howie Roseman is still adamant about giving him up, and he may not lower his asking price until he's absolutely positive the relationship cannot be amended.
In the meantime, another team has joined the race. According to former player-turned-insider Brian Baldinger, the Denver Broncos have also reached out.
“I know that there’s interest there on both sides. Maybe Tepid, but some interest. At least enough to inquire to what the asking price is,” Baldinger told DNVR.
The Broncos could certainly use another vertical threat. Courtland Sutton is a reliable pass catcher, but they need to give Bo Nix more weapons for the passing game.
Sean Payton's team has been one of the quietest in free agency thus far, knowing they can bring back most of their roster from last season and that they were just a couple of tweaks away from the Super Bowl.
Adding Brown to that offense would certainly make them scarier, even with all the doubts about Nix.
Again, with the Patriots hellbent on getting Brown back together with Mike Vrabel and the Eagles' reluctance to set a reasonable asking price, it might be a while before the star receiver is on the move -- if ever.
