Luka Doncic went into a reflective state after cheering up some patients this week at UCLA Health Medical Center.

The Los Angeles Lakers star on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the medical facility. Doncic had some wholesome interactions with some confined folks, including a moment with young Malachi who’s probably now a Luka believer for life.

Doncic was asked about the experience on Thursday after the Lakers’ 142-130 win over the Chicago Bulls. He revealed that the brief visit reminded him to be glad he’s healthy enough not only to play for the Lakers, but also go through life normally outside of a hospital.

“At the end of the day, you go there, and then you realize that you don’t really have problems in your life at all,” Doncic told reporters.

“Health is a lot. It’s the most important thing in life. So you realize, you don’t have problems at all.”

Doncic has been dealing with some issues of his own off the court. The Slovenian superstar is reportedly in a legal battle with his ex-fiancée for custody of their children. While that’s still a heavy burden to bear, Doncic realized that he still has a lot to be grateful for.

Doncic had several of his new friends from UCLA Health sign a practice shirt of his, which he wore during warmups before the Lakers-Bulls game.

No word yet on whether his renewed perspective has lessened his complaining with the referees, though.
