New Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown recently made it known during an edition of the "Speakeasy" program that he is hyped to have Jalen Hurts as his new full-time quarterback.
Brown has also heard and read the numerous rumors that have suggested it is a matter of when and not if Eagles general manager Howie Roseman will trade receiver A.J. Brown this offseason. According to Hollywood Brown, he spoke with the Eagles about A.J. Brown's uncertain future before putting pen to paper on a one-year deal with the NFC East club.
"We talked about it. Of course, I want A.J. there," Hollywood Brown said, as shared by Kevin Patra of the NFL's website. "You want to be surrounded by great players, and he's a great player. And his last name is Brown. I want him there."
Hollywood Brown is expected to be a No. 3/starting slot receiver for the Eagles, so adding him to the roster shouldn't impact whether or not Roseman trades A.J. Brown before September. Conflicting stories have emerged over the past week about whether or not Roseman has to wait until June 1 to trade A.J. Brown for reasons related to the salary cap. A.J. Brown signed a three-year, $96M extension with $84M in guaranteed money in April 2024, and he has not yet gone public with a trade request this offseason.
"At the end of the day, me understanding that it's a business, he's got to do what he's got to do," Hollywood Brown added about A.J. Brown. "Whatever he feels that's best for him. But, for me, I'm coming in, and I'm trying to make plays. Whoever's in the building, we're going to get it right, and that's all I'm trying to do."
Roseman reportedly wants a first-round draft pick and a second-round choice in return for A.J. Brown. Unless the New England Patriots or a different team matches Roseman's asking price, Hollywood Brown and A.J. Brown may remain teammates through at least the start of the 2026 season.
