New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo addressed some controversial comments he made about CTE and asthma in a recent podcast appearance.

Skattebo, 24, was a guest on the “Bring The Juice” podcast and was asked by host Frank Dalena if he thought CTE was real.

Skattebo said no and called it an “excuse,” and was similarly dismissive of asthma.

Take a look:

Skattebo’s comments quickly went viral, prompting him to issue an apology Saturday on X. The Giants running back apologized for his comments, calling them a “tasteless joke” and “a lapse in judgment.”

We have already seen that Skattebo likes to have fun and is indifferent to his critics. This time, however, he upset many people by seemingly downplaying the risk of serious head injuries as well as trouble breathing.

Skattebo is coming off a successful rookie season with the Giants. He rushed for 410 yards and five touchdowns on 101 attempts in eight games before an ankle injury prematurely ended his season.
