The Duke Blue Devils will go for another shot at glory when they face off with Rick Pitino's St. John's on Friday for a Sweet 16 matchup.
Twins Cameron and Cayden Boozer will try to lead Jon Scheyer's team to the ultimate glory, just like their father, former NBA star Carlos Boozer, did in 2001.
If the Boozer twins didn't have enough pressure already, trying to carry the family legacy in Durham certainly won't make the weight any lighter.
However, during an appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show," Carlos Boozer revealed that he didn't pressure his sons to follow in his footsteps and commit to the Blue Devils.
“I didn’t force it on them at all. They chose it on their own. They went through the entire recruiting process. They met all the coaches. They went on their official visits, and they decided to play together at Duke. I was obviously extremely happy about that,” Boozer said.
Per the former NBA forward, he would've supported his sons' decision to join another program if the opportunity was better.
“If there was an situation that was better for Cayden than Cam, there was an option for them to go separate and a chance to go to college in two different places. If it was better for one or the other. But they sat down and handled it like some men and decided they wanted to choose to stay together,” he continued.
Cameron has been arguably the best — or at least most consistent — player in the nation this season, averaging 22.4 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game on 56.3 percent from the floor and 39.8 percent from three-point range, per Basketball Reference.
He and his brother are both predicted to be first-round selections in the 2026 NBA Draft, and taking Duke back to the mountaintop will certainly keep boosting their already impressive draft stock.
