Tiger Woods was arrested on a DUI charge on Friday after a two-vehicle crash in Jupiter Island, Florida, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
Nobody was hurt in the collision, but what followed put Woods back in a familiar and uncomfortable spotlight. His agent, Mark Steinberg, had no comment when reached by USA Today Sports.
The crash itself unfolded when a pickup truck tried to turn into a driveway and couldn't clear the path in time, Woods' Range Rover was coming in too fast to avoid it. The SUV flipped onto its driver's side on impact.
Woods climbed out through the passenger side before deputies arrived on the scene. When officers got there, they said he appeared "lethargic" and "showed signs of impairment." His breathalyzer came back at 0.0, but that didn't change their assessment, per TMZ.

The sheriff later speculated that "either medication or drugs" was likely the factor, not alcohol. Woods also declined a urine test, which added to the charges as he's now facing DUI, property damage and refusing a lawful test.
This is not the first time Woods has been through something like this. Back in 2021, he was involved in a serious rollover crash in California that left him with significant leg injuries and kept him off the course for months.
Friday's arrest in Jupiter Island puts the spotlight back on Woods at a time when he has been working to stay relevant in golf on his own terms.
Where things go from here legally remains to be seen.
