Jaden Ivey, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, has been released by the Chicago Bulls.
Ivey has posted several videos in recent weeks discussing religion and other various topics. On Monday, he posted a video that called out the NBA for taking part in Pride Month.
"They proclaim Pride Month in the NBA. They show it to the world," Ivey said. "They say, 'Come join us for Pride Month' to celebrate unrighteousness. They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it in the streets. Unrighteousness."
On Monday afternoon, the Bulls released Ivey for conduct detrimental to the team.
Ivey, 24, has played in only four games this season due to a knee injury. He has admitted in the past to struggling with depression.

Ivey had sky-high potential coming out of Purdue in the 2022 NFL Draft.
He was selected by the Detroit Pistons in hopes that he could become the backcourt running mate for Cade Cunningham, but Ivey took some time to get acclimated to the NFL as his frenetic style of pace needed to slow down and his shooting needed to improve.
Ivey seemed to be on the path towards figuring it out, averaging 17.6 points per game in 2024-25, but he suffered a broken left fibula in January 2025.
The Pistons chose not to give him a contract extension last offseason, and they traded him to the Bulls at the 2026 NBA trade deadline after he averaged just 8.2 points per game in just over 16 minutes per game.
