What was initially a solid afternoon for NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Chandler Smith quickly turned sour.
Smith put together a great afternoon at Rockingham Speedway in Friday's Black's Tire 200, finishing fourth. However, his No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford F-150 was disqualified in post-race inspection for failing to meet rear body height requirements.
The disqualification dropped Smith to a last-place (36th) finish on Friday and also knocked him out of the Truck Series points lead through five races.
Smith, who won the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 13, is now fourth in the Truck Series standings, 17 points behind Rockingham winner Corey Heim and Kaden Honeycutt, who are tied for the points lead.

The No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford has been disqualified for failing to meet post-race rear body inspection height requirements.
Smith is just six points and one position behind his Front Row Motorsports teammate in Layne Riggs, who sits third in the standings.
Smith's disqualification moves Grant Enfinger into a top-five finish and Cole Butcher into the top 10. Smith was the only driver to be disqualified after Friday's race.
There is some light on the horizon for Smith and the No. 38 team, however, as the Truck Series is headed to Bristol Motor Speedway next week. Smith won at Bristol in April 2025.
