Eloy Jimenez didn't earn a spot on the Toronto Blue Jays' Opening Day roster, but his performance with the Buffalo Bisons indicates he should have.
He is hitting .375 with a home run, five RBI and a .971 OPS. Before being sent down to Triple-A Buffalo, he recorded a .875 OPS with two bombs across 42 at-bats in camp.
His hard work has been recognized, as he was recently awarded the Legends Player of the Week honor. The 29-year-old has been playing with a lot of confidence and is deserving of a call-up this season.
And considering the struggles the Blue Jays have undergone recently, such a call-up isn't out of the question.

The Dominican has been establishing more power at the plate, which has contributed to increased exit velocities. With his offensive reliability, he has shown he can be a threat when healthy.
Unfortunately, injuries have affected his potential, but if he can avoid the injury list, he has a good opportunity to unleash his skillset.
The two-run home run he hit with the Bisons in a 9-7 loss to the Omaha Storm Chasers on April 2 was a strong indicator of his power. Despite an off-peak season in 2024, he was still able to record a 49% hard-hit rate.
His goal is to continue to provide consistency in the hope of gaining enough attention to join the MLB roster.
While the Blue Jays have significant depth in the outfield, Jimenez can still compete, as he provides a high-ceiling right-handed bat.
