For years, the Green Bay Packers have had many wide receivers, but no true star at the position.
Christian Watson can be one, but is often hurt, and Matthew Golden struggled as a rookie. Now, with Romeo Doubs gone, the need for an elite pass-catcher only grows.
Considering that, Fox Sports' Ralph Vacchiano believes Packers head coach Matt LaFleur should reach out to his brother for some help.
In his latest column, he predicted the Packers would send a 2026 second-round pick (52nd) and a 2027 third-round pick to get WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
"Harrison has been a disappointment with the Cardinals, but that could be all about their miserable quarterback situation. Pair him with Jordan Love, and his numbers should soar," Vacchiano wrote. "It would be a big deal, and complicated by the fact that the Packers don’t have a first-rounder again until 2028."
The Cardinals just hired Mike LaFleur as their new head coach, so there should clearly be a direct line of communication there. Still, that doesn't mean he's under any obligation to do the Packers any favors.
Also, the Cardinals might be keeping their sights on the 2027 NFL Draft, which will be stacked with quarterbacks, including Arch Manning.
The prospect of pairing another generation of Mannings and Harrisons is certainly enticing, and they may not be ready to give up on their former first-round pick just yet.
Moreover, entering the draft with no first- or second-round pick would be a risky approach, to say the least, especially for a team with big needs at cornerback and in the offensive line.
That said, Matt LaFleur is an offensive-minded coach, and Harrison may only need a change of scenery — and decent quarterback play — to live up to his steep draft pedigree.
Whether both parties will be interested in making this deal, however, might be a different story.
