With the NFL Draft just around the corner, the Pittsburgh Steelers still don't know whether Aaron Rodgers will be their quarterback next season.
Whether that might deter their plans to take a signal-caller or not, the lack of clarity can be frustrating.
But Steelers star RB Jaylen Warren isn't going to lose any sleep on it. If anything, he's going to roll with whoever is under center come Week 1.
Talking on "Good Morning Football," the veteran running back admitted that he had no expectations about Rodgers.
"You know, I'm not really expecting anything," Warren said (h/t Jeremy Bregman). "Whatever happens, happens. I'm rocking with whoever's at the quarterback position. But if he comes back, great. If he doesn't, then we'll miss him."
Rodgers has been through this same process for the past three years. He usually takes his time, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him drag this decision deep into the offseason.
That, of course, puts the Steelers in a tough spot. Even if Rodgers isn't the player he used to be, he'd still be an upgrade over perennial backup Mason Rudolph or second-year QB Will Howard.
They already missed out on Kirk Cousins, and if Rodgers doesn't return, there won't be many proven options to take the reins for Mike McCarthy's team.
That said, the Steelers are long overdue for a rebuild, and perhaps not having Rodgers on the field will be just what they need to finally blow up the roster and start from scratch to get back to the mountaintop.
