Chicago Sky trade for another Caitlin Clark enemy after Angel Reese’s exit

The Chicago Sky are going from one of Caitlin Clark’s enemies to another.

Chicago announced on Saturday that they have acquired guard Jacy Sheldon in a trade with the Washington Mystics. The Sky are sending a 2028 first-round pick back to the Mystics in exchange for Sheldon.

Sheldon, 25, is a former No. 5 overall draft pick. Last season combined between the Mystics and the Connecticut Sun, she averaged 7.5 points and 1.9 assists per game on 47/4/88 shooting splits.

But Sheldon is also known for her feud with Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark. While with the Sun in June of last year, Sheldon infamously hit Clark with a flagrant foul, sparking a skirmish. Fever guard Sophie Cunningham then retalitated against Sheldon later on in that same game. Sheldon and Clark have also had heated incidents with each other dating back to their college days.

The Sky just made waves earlier this week by trading away Angel Reese in a blockbuster deal. Reese has a very well-publicized beef with Clark herself, and now Chicago has quickly landed another Clark foe to replace Reese.

Chicago is also keeping busy in other regards this offseason. They just signed seven-time WNBA All-Star Skylar Diggins and reunited with their former champion big Azura Stevens as well.
