Mike Trout's hot bat makes history in multiple ways at Yankee Stadium

All it took was a trip to Yankee Stadium to get Mike Trout going. Trout has been on an historic tear in the Bronx, but it was only enough to lead the Los Angeles Angels to one win in the first three games of the four-game set.

Adding another home run on Wednesday night, a two-run shot in the sixth inning, Trout has four long balls in the series against the Yankees. He only had two before his trip to New York.

Trout's hot bat has even made history.

He is only the second visiting player to ever homer on three consecutive days at the current edition of Yankee Stadium (the ballpark opened in 2009), joining Miguel Cabrera.

He's also made much longer tenured history, too. Trout's four home runs in a series against the Yankees is only behind the likes of George Bell (1990), Darrell Evans (1985) and Jimmie Fox (1933) — they each hit five, for the most all-time in any series against the Yankees.

And with five hits, four home runs and eight RBI in the past three games alone, Trout has used the New York stage to reignite his season.

Mike Trout was struggling at the plate before the series against the Yankees

After crushing home runs in back-to-back games to open the season, Trout endured struggles the rest of the way that saw his batting average dip as low as .184 in the middle of the Angels' previous series in Cincinnati before facing the Yankees.

Whether or not Trout, a three-time MVP, can ever reclaim his status as the best player in the game, he's proving that he can still show flashes if nothing else.

Most importantly, Trout has stayed healthy so far as he's looking to play in over 100 games for the second straight year. He played in 130 games in 2025 after failing to do so in either of the two prior seasons, only appearing in 29 games during the summer of 2024.
