Will Aaron Rodgers leave Steelers hanging again with draft approaching?

Once again, the Pittsburgh Steelers' entire offseason might hinge on whether Aaron Rodgers retires or returns for another season.

This time, however, they have an opportunity to take a quarterback with the No. 21 pick, so some clarity would be useful.

Steelers owner Art Rooney II urged Rodgers to announce his decision before the NFL Draft, but with just days to go, that might not be the case.

In an appearance on the "Pat McAfee Show," NFL insider Tom Pelissero shut down the possibility of hearing from Rodgers any time soon.

Aaron Rodgers won't announce his decision before the NFL Draft

"I would say I have no anticipation right now that Aaron Rodgers is going to announce anything prior to the draft," Pelissero said. "I know that Art Rooney had indicated that they hoped it would be around then. I have not been told that. I don't think that that's really a deadline from the Steelers' perspective."

The Steelers have several issues to address on the roster, and they're reportedly comfortable rolling with Mason Rudolph and Will Howard at quarterback if Rodgers doesn't return.

Also, Ty Simpson is a polarizing prospect because of his physical limitations and limited experience, so they may not feel great about taking him in the first round.

Regardless, and as much as Rodgers has earned the right to decide what he wants to do next, holding his team hostage probably isn't the best way to ensure success, proper roster building or even letting other players know that he cares.
