Kyle Larson comes up one spot shy of breaking long winless drought at Kansas

Kyle Larson made a bold three-wide move on the final restart of Sunday's AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway that appeared to be the race-winning move.

With two laps to go, Larson was clear of the field after passing Denny Hamlin and Tyler Reddick on the inside in turn 1 and was pulling away — until Reddick made a run at him and got to his inside on the final lap.

After a spirited last-lap battle, Reddick cleared Larson in turn 3 and drove away to clinch his fifth win of 2026, leaving Larson with a heartbreaking runner-up result and a 34-race winless streak he'll carry into Talladega on April 26.

Kyle Larson comments on Kansas loss

"When it all worked out like that, I was like, 'oh, great, clean air,'" Larson told Fox Sports. "I plowed [tight] through three and four. I could tell [Reddick] had a run on me and thought maybe if I could get to the banking it would load and cut.

"He was really good right there. The restart worked out great. We got lucky with the caution, too. We're getting closer, really close there. We'll keep trying."
