The Memphis Tigers and head coach Penny Hardaway have seemingly found their point guard for the 2026-27 season.
That would be Jayden Reid, who committed to Memphis via the transfer portal on Monday.
This will be the third stop of Reid's career. A former 3-star recruit from Glen Head, New York, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound point guard started his career at USF.
After two seasons with the Bulls, Reid transferred to play at Northwestern last season, where he played in 34 games and started 28.
He's now signed up to play for Memphis next season.

Reid averaged 10.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game last season for Northwestern. He shot 39% from the field and 31.7% from beyond the arc, so nobody is going to confuse him for a sharp-shooter.
With that said, he's absolutely a facilitator, and he'll bring a ton of experience to the table for Memphis.
He also has more in his bag than what he showed at Northwestern.
As a sophomore at USF, he averaged 12.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, shooting 35.8% from three. He was also a part of the All-AAC freshman team in 2023-24 after averaging 6.8 points per game. As a freshman, he shot 47.5% from three.
247Sports ranked Reid as the No. 38 point guard in the transfer portal.
