Early projection: Top 10 quarterbacks in the 2027 NFL Draft

With the 2026 NFL Draft wrapped up, the attention has shifted to the 2027 draft. The 2027 quarterback class is projected to be one of the deepest and most talented in recent memory.

This group features multiple signal-callers with first-round potential, including a mix of pocket passers, dual-threats and transfers who could breakout this fall. It's likely that several top-tier quarterbacks will emerge from this class. However, rankings will change significantly leading up to next April.

Here are the current top 10 quarterbacks.

1. Arch Manning (Texas) (6-foot-4, 219 pounds)

Despite starting cold in 2025, Manning finished hot, developed and flashed his NFL potential. Last season, he threw for 3,163 yards, 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Manning has all the football IQ, arm talent and athletic ability you want in a modern quarterback. His pedigree alone will keep him at the top of boards.

2. Julian Sayin (Ohio State) (6-foot-1, 208 pounds)

Sayin has the most potential in the class to compete for the top quarterback spot. He exploded in his first year as a full-time starter, posting elite numbers (3,610 yards, 32 touchdowns, eight interceptions) along with demonstrating NFL-caliber traits. He's a precise, high-IQ pocket passer who thrived attacking the full field. His full-field ball placement and post-snap processing will do wonders for him.

3. Dante Moore (Oregon) (6-foot-3, 206 pounds)

Moore could've entered the 2026 NFL Draft but opted to stay with Oregon for one more season. In 2025, he threw for 3,565 yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Moore boasts a strong arm and big-play ability. His ability to operate within structure and keep his offense ahead of schedule is impressive.

4. C.J. Carr (Notre Dame) (6-foot-3, 210 pounds)

Carr's potential is intriguing, as he could take a major leap in 2026. He's a true pro-style quarterback who can run any offense. Carr has good pre- and post-snap awareness, along with good timing on his releases. Overall, he's shown steady growth and projects as a reliable pocket passer with upside.

5. Drew Mestemaker (Oklahoma State) (6-foot-4, 211 pounds)

Mestemaker is an intriguing prospect who dominated in his first year as a starter at North Texas. He now has the opportunity to prove himself in the Power 4. The former zero-star recruit has shown determination, work ethic and efficient passing throughout his short career.

6. Darian Mensah (Miami) (6-foot-3, 205 pounds)

Mensah posted strong production in 2025 at Duke, throwing for 3,973 yards, 34 touchdowns and six interceptions. He has improved each season as a starter and will likely flourish in Miami before heading into the NFL. He can attack the full field with good velocity and ball placement. He's expected to be one of the top quarterbacks this cycle.

7. Drake Lindsey (Minnesota) (6-foot-5, 230 pounds)

Lindsey possesses a prototypical frame, is strong and physical and is a true pocket passer. He displays the willingness and poise to stand in the pocket and deliver under pressure while showcasing good footwork and a quick release. Lindsey has the potential to be one of the biggest risers and potentially work his way into the top five at his position.

8. Jayden Maiava (USC) (6-foot-4, 230 pounds)

Maiava has consistently shown flashes of high-level play and the ability to drive the football downfield. He possesses very good arm strength, size and pocket mobility, placing him among the top 10 with the potential to rise after 2026.

9. Gunner Stockton (Georgia) (6-foot-1, 215 pounds)

Stockton had a strong first-year start, throwing for 2,894 yards, 24 touchdowns and only five interceptions. He plays in a pro-style system, which is highly favored by NFL organizations. With another strong season at the helm, he'll be a quarterback worth monitoring.

10. Justin Lamson (Montana State) (6-foot-2, 210 pounds)

Lamson is flying under the radar on the 2027 quarterback list. He just led his team to a national championship and possesses the mobility to be effective outside the pocket while dissecting from within. Another strong campaign could boost him into the conversation.
